Job Hunting

So I have begun to equate job hunting to being the same as trying to get to third base with that cute girl in Chemistry class. You have to behave and butter her up, "I have lots of references" " No I've never applied for a position within your company before" "Never been convicted of any crimes". You are on display when hunting for a job and you have to talk yourself up and make the person on the otherside of the email believe you are the best at what you want to do for them. What's the magic sentence that turns a "maybe" application into "we gotta hire this dude"? It's hard for me to figure out where I stand compared to others in my field. Am I a good designer and okay designer a kick-ass designer? My only baseline for comparison are my designer friends and co-workers. Foot-in-the-door is what I have stuck in my head I just need to get the right eyes on my Resume, Website, Interview. I'd like to think that I'm a good interview and if I get that opportunity I will land the position. Now that I think of it I have gotten every job I have interviewed for but it's getting to that interview thats the hard part..... more later
